Head Over Heels may be able to put together a camp for 8 or more interested campers as long as the dates do not interfere with other activities scheduled in the gym. Please complete a No School Day Request Form to submit your date.
Unfortunately not. At two, students are not developmentally ready to attend our camp.
Drop-off/Pick-up Procedures

For Half-day preschool (Half-day Preschool camp ends at 1:30pm): Park and sign out your child in the gym.
Yes, although it is generally a smoother transition if the child is dropped off on time. If you arrive after camp begins, park and come inside to sign your child in at the office. Our staff will help your child join their group.
Sign your camper out in the office and staff will assist with retrieving your child from their group.
Yes, please check in with the office before signing out and when dropping back off.
Camp Activities
Campers will practice on gymnastics apparatus in the morning, play outside during lunch (weather permitting), and participate in electives such as: arts & crafts, free time, and cooperative games in the afternoon.
No, we do not have a nap scheduled in our day.
Yes, during warm weather campers will spend between 1 and 2 hours outside.
If it is actively raining outside, campers will not be outdoors.
Campers eat lunch and snack outside (weather permitting) and participate in additional activities such as dance and arts and crafts.
We understand that children may be slower to warm, or just too tired to participate. Coaches will encourage these children to join the activity or modify the activity to fit their needs, but will respect their wishes to take some down time if needed. While taking a break, campers are required to stay with their group and find a safe place to sit until they are ready to join in again.
Lunch and Snack Times
No, we do allow nuts at camp.
Campers start lunch between 11:30am and 12 pm. When finished eating, they can play outside (during nice weather), or engage in a quiet activity (reading, coloring, etc).
Morning snack happens between 10:00 – 10:30am. Our afternoon snack happens between 3:00 – 3:30pm.
Yes, campers will need both lunch and snacks (morning & afternoon). Please pack healthy options that will keep them full and energized during long stretches of physical activity. No candy or sugary drinks are allowed to be consumed during the camp day. If packed, they will be saved until after camp. Campers also need to bring a refillable water bottle. There are no water fountains in the gym but rather a bottle fill station.
No, we cannot accommodate requests for camper’s lunches to be stored in the refrigerator or to be heated up in the microwave.
Special Concerns
Please be sure the information is on file in our computer system (you can check with the Front Office), and that staff are aware of the allergies/intolerance/dietary restrictions (a written account is most helpful).
Parents/Guardians of campers who need to carry an Epi-Pen at camp must complete an Authorized Use form and submit it to the front office no later than the first day of camp. Please bring the epi-pen in a clearly labeled bag with the child’s name and phone number to the front office when you arrive.
In many cases, campers with special physical or emotional needs are very successful at camp. However, before signing up, please email info@hohathleticarts.com, or call 510-655-1265 to determine if the camp is safe and appropriate. Once signed up, a written description of safety precautions and other pertinent information should be provided to staff.
Yes, please contact the front office to notify them that an aid will be accompanying your child to camp. When the aid arrives they will need to check-in with the front office prior to going onto the floor and sign our participation waiver.
We know how hard separation anxiety can be for children and parents. Coaches will support children and their adults with drop-off if needed by offering the child the opportunity to stay with the coach until they are ready to branch out, helping the child make new friends, and comforting them until they have calmed down. We recommend establishing a drop-off routine that the child becomes familiar with to help with the transition. If a child has been inconsolable for more than 20 minutes, parents will be called. It is our goal that all campers have a fun and positive experience at camp. If you anticipate your child having a hard time at drop off, feel free to reach out to the staff at info@HOHAthleticArts.com to discuss tips that can help us best support them.
Groups
Campers are grouped by age.
Please notify the front office if this is the case. Your child’s coach will be able to provide adequate challenge regardless of what group they are in.
All requests should be made at least three days in advance as it is very difficult to accommodate requests made after this time. If the age gap between two friends/siblings is too large, or if the dynamics between the friends/siblings is such that they have trouble interacting safely in the same group, we may not be able to accommodate the request to be grouped together.
Group requests are only for large, week-long camps. The form can be found in the confirmation email that is sent to you a week prior to the start of your camp date(s).
General
The gym does tend to be cold (especially during Thanksgiving Camp, Winter Camp, Spring Camp, and other No School Day camps), so dressing in layers is recommended. Campers should be dressed in clothing they can easily move around in, such as leggings, athletic pants or shorts, t-shirts. Jeans and other restrictive clothing are not permitted. Leotards are only recommended for children 7+ or those who can take on/off their leotard to use the restroom independently. Clothing should be free of buttons and zippers, as this damages our equipment and can pinch the skin. Long hair should be pulled back.
All campers will need a healthy lunch, morning and afternoon snack and water bottle. Those six and under should bring an extra pair of clothes just in case of a potty accident. As we spend time outside, shoes, jackets, hats, and sunscreen are a good idea to bring.
No, our camps are designed to accommodate children with a variety of abilities and skill levels. Please keep in mind our camps are for recreational level students – for those with more advanced training, this camp may not be appropriate.
No, campers bring and apply their own sunscreen.
If it is just urine, we will provide your child baby-wipes to clean up with and retrieve their change of clothes from their cubby. If they do not have an extra set of clothes, we have a limited supply of clothes for them to borrow for the day. Once cleaned up and changed, your child will rejoin their group. If it is a bowel movement, the parent/guardian will be required to come and help the child get properly cleaned up. Our staff does not handle BM accidents. It is our policy that campers be fully potty-trained to attend camp. If a camper has more than two accidents during the week we consider this a breach of policy and they will not be able to continue their time at camp.
Staff
We maintain a ratio of 1:8 for preschoolers and a 1:10 for school-age campers. However, our ratios may differ depending on the activity.
Yes, all our staff ages 18+ have undergone background checks as well as multiple child safety courses through USA Gymnastics.
